We spent a long weekend in Venice in September 2020 and the last night we slept in the beautiful Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. Special about the hotel is among other things the location.
The Hilton Hotel is not located on the main island of Venice, but on Giudecca. This has the advantage that depending on the room you have a great view over Venice. On the other side, you have to find one of the few boats that docks there. This was a bit difficult for us, especially on the way to the hotel. But the hotel offers a very good alternative. There is a special boat, which is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and goes once an hour to Piazza San Marco and back to the hotel. The boat really looks very chic and is also very cheap. If you want to use this service, you pay only 8€ per person for the whole stay in the Hilton. We would therefore definitely recommend to use this offer. Especially for a longer stay it is worth even more.
Another special feature of the hotel is that there is a modern and a classic area. Therefore, when booking, you should always pay attention to which area of the hotel you book. We had booked a room in the classic area, which would have had a great view over Venice. Due to our gold status at Hilton we got an upgrade to a family suite, which we were very happy about. The suite was also in the classic area and had a total of three rooms and two bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and we had a lot of space. We also found the furnishings very nice. We would recommend you to book a room in the classic area because we think it fits great to Venice and the Venetian style. But in the end it is also a matter of taste.
The hotel is very large overall. We have not been in any other hotel that is so spacious. The individual floors are so big that we were happy about the good signposting. The hotel also has some more highlights to offer. For example the great roof terrace with the Skybar. From there you have a great view, the drinks were delicious and the service staff was very attentive. A visit to the Skybar is also worthwhile for visitors who are not staying in the hotel. So all in all definitely worth a visit! Unfortunately we could not see the pool of the hotel. Due to the weather it was closed at the time of our stay. But from the pictures it looked very good. The pool is right next to the Skybar on the 8th floor.
The breakfast was also very tasty and the ambience in the breakfast room was pleasant. There was a varied selection of bread/rolls, egg dishes, fruit and much more. We also had access to the Executive Lounge, as we got a suite. The lounge is on the first floor and there were many delicious snacks and drinks. In comparison we have seen much nicer lounge areas. Also, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes there, at least when we were there.
Overall we liked the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice very much. It is a very big hotel and it depends on the individual taste whether you prefer bigger or smaller hotels. The corridors are very spacious, at least in the classic area, so that the rooms are not so close to each other and the hotel looks even a bit bigger. When we were there, it certainly wasn’t as crowded because of Corona. The price of this Hilton Hotel is a bit more demanding, but the price level of hotels in Venice is generally a bit higher. We would therefore recommend to book well in advance and to pay attention to the price when choosing the date. For example, we stayed from Sunday to Monday where the price was relatively cheap.
